All technicians and instructors are required to participate in at least one community event. This event must be logged into your CPS Online Profile. You can edit it later in your certification cycle.
- Two-hour check up event with at least one other CPS Technician at which you serve families using any standardized checklist to provide documentation, if needed.
- Provide at least four hours of community education. Examples include talking at birthing classes, PTAs, EMS/law enforcement, a preschool or Head Start, or other parenting groups and organizations. Working health fairs where you are primarily talking about CPS would also count towards this requirement. These are presentations to non-CPSTs. You are welcome to combine different presentations to meet the time requirement (e.g. 4 one-hour education sessions).
