There are 4 requirements to pass the course and become a nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST).
- Attend the entire course, including the check up event.
- Pass all three hands-on skills assessments during the course. If you fail any assessment, you will be notified during the course and may stay in class as an observer only at the discretion of the Lead Instructor
- Participate in, and demonstrate technical and communication skills learned during the course, at the check up event.
- Earn a combined score of 84% or higher on the three open-book quizzes.
If any of the above does not occur, you must repeat the entire course to be certified. No refund will be provided, as all processing and course materials have been delivered. You must register for any subsequent course and pay any associated fees.
If you must retake the CPS Certification course, use your existing online profile and register for a new course using your current username and password. Please do not create a duplicate contact record.
